Cheesy Turkey and Broccoli Casserole

3 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 ½ cups cooked brown rice

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

½ cup milk

1 tablespoon olive oil (plus more for greasing)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

½ teaspoon paprika (optional for a smoky twist)

½ cup breadcrumbs (for a crunchy topping)

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Cook the Broccoli: Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then add the broccoli florets. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until they are tender-crisp. After cooking, promptly drain the broccoli and set it aside to cool slightly.

      Prepare the Casserole Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded turkey, cooked brown rice, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. If you'd like a little kick, add the optional paprika. Stir all the ingredients together until they are thoroughly mixed.
