2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, with juices

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped

8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved

Balsamic glaze, for drizzling

Extra fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to the package instructions, typically 10-12 minutes, until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.

    Sauté Aromatics: In a spacious skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for approximately 1 minute, stirring frequently until it becomes fragrant. Take care not to let the garlic burn, as this will affect the flavor.

      Add Tomatoes and Seasonings: Carefully pour in the diced tomatoes with their juices. Stir in the dried oregano and optional red pepper flakes for added heat.
