Ingredients

1 bottle (750ml) dry white wine (suggestions: Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)

2 cups apple cider (can be fresh or store-bought)

1 cup cranberry juice (ensure it's 100% juice, not a cocktail blend)

2 tablespoons orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Grand Marnier)

1 crisp apple, cored and thinly sliced (try Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best results)

1 cup fresh cranberries (frozen is acceptable if out of season)

1 orange, thinly sliced

1 lemon, thinly sliced

2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary (optional for added aroma)

Sparkling water or lemon-lime soda, for topping

Ice cubes, as needed for serving

Instructions

In a large pitcher, combine the bottle of dry white wine, 2 cups of apple cider, 1 cup of cranberry juice, and 2 tablespoons of orange liqueur. Stir gently to ensure all the ingredients are well mixed.

Next, add the thinly sliced apple, fresh cranberries, orange slices, and lemon slices to the pitcher. If you choose to use them, add the sprigs of fresh rosemary for an herbaceous touch.

Stir the mixture gently to allow the flavors to meld. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, although allowing it to chill for up to 12 hours will intensify the flavors even further.

When you are ready to serve the sangria, fill each glass with ice cubes. Pour the sangria mixture over the ice, filling each glass approximately two-thirds full to leave room for the topping.

Top off each glass with a splash of sparkling water or lemon-lime soda to add a refreshing fizz.

For a touch of elegance, garnish with additional fresh fruit and a sprig of rosemary, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the festive flavors!
